Getting Old

If you ever want to age yourself, all you have to do is realize how many items are breaking down because they are getting old, because you got them when you got married. We have been married for 8 years, and it just seems like everything needs to be replaced lately. There is our computer...good old Dell which has lasted for 7 years but which takes a half an hour to upload anything. Then there is the camera, which doesn't zoom anymore and tells you that the battery is dead half the time when it isn't. Then I flushed the toilet today and it sounded like it was going to explode (we didn't buy that one when we got married). Although, there is a sense of pride in seeing how long you can "make do or do without". We tried that with our TV and finally decided that it was time to part ways. Mike had bought that one while he was in college and had managed to de-magnetize the corner of the picture while bringing it home. Oh, and if you try and call, you might get cut off, because the battery on our last working phone is dieing (that includes my cell phone.) So I say, if anyone has been in this position before, say "Aye!!!." Or maybe it is just us....

I know what you mean. We have a few things that we could replace but they still work, even if it's SLOW, so we haven't. We have a laptop that we use as our home computer that is 9 years old. It's a Dell too and I think our tv is just as old.

Aye! We are working on our second set of "things". We just replaced our second TV and had work done on our second set of washer and dryer. 13 years of marriage and we're falling apart physically as well. I jumped on the scales and just about DIED!!!! OUCH!! So much for the high metabolism.
